Martha Hooper Blackler
Martha Hooper Blackler or Martha Kalopothakis ( Greek Μαρθα Καλοποθάκης , born June 1, 1830 in Marblehead , Massachusetts , † December 16, 1871 in Athens ) was an American missionary in Greece.
Life
Martha Hooper Blackler married Michail Kalopothakis in 1858 when he was studying medicine and theology in New York , and went with him to Greece, where he worked as a Protestant missionary. She quickly learned Greek and helped him publish a weekly magazine. In addition, she gained great influence among Greek women. Later she also translated books from English and published a youth magazine in Greek. She died at the age of 41.

Their children Demetrios Kalopothakes and Mary Kalopothakes continued the work of their parents.
