Martha Kimmerling

Martha Christine Wilhelmine Kimmerling , b. Schütt (born April 6, 1873 in Ottensen , † December 14, 1956 in Hamburg ) was a German politician of the SPD and a member of the Hamburg parliament .

Life and politics

Kimmerling worked as a maid and housewife after graduating from school for seven years. In 1894 she married. During the First World War , she volunteered in the war kitchen for two and a half years .

Within the SPD and the trade union, she had been volunteering in various areas since 1902.

She was one of the first women for the SPD from 1919 to 1921 in the Hamburg parliament. During this time she was a member of the guardianship authority.
