Martin Bergvold (born February 20, 1984 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish football player . He currently plays as a midfielder for FC Copenhagen .

Bergvold started his career with small clubs like Rødovre Boldklub and Boldklubben Avarta . Then he went to Kjøbenhavns Boldklub , the reserve team of FC Copenhagen . Bergvold's professional debut took place in December 2002 for FC Copenhagen. He won the Danish championship with this team in 2003 . He scored his first goal for Copenhagen in the following 2003/04 season when his team became champions again. In the 2005/06 season Bergvold became a regular for the new champions Copenhagen.

In January 2007 he moved to AS Livorno , with which he made his Serie A debut against Fiorentina on January 28, 2007. After more than three years in Livorno, during which he secured a regular place for the first time during the 2008/09 season , he moved back to FC Copenhagen in August 2010 after his contract with the Tuscans had not been extended.

National team

He played - mostly as captain - for almost all youth national teams in Denmark and was named the best football player under the age of 17 by the Danish Football Association in 2000 . In May 2006 he took part in the European Championship 2006 in Portugal for the Danish U-21 national team, where he was part of the starting line-up at all games in Denmark.
