Martin Damus

Martin Damus (born April 7, 1936 ; † July 21, 2013 in Osnabrück ) was a German professor of art history at the University of Osnabrück .

Life

Martin Damus was until 1965 blacksmith in East Berlin . He emigrated to West Berlin and studied art history, philosophy and history at the Free University of Berlin between 1968 and 1972 . He completed his studies with a doctorate on the functions of the fine arts in late capitalism . Later he was appointed as an adjunct professor for art history at the University of Osnabrück .
