Martin Driller (born January 2, 1970 in Paderborn ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
His first stop in the men's soccer area was TuS Paderborn-Neuhaus (today: SC Paderborn 07 ) in the Oberliga Westfalen. In the 1987/88 season, the 17-year-old made his debut in the league. In the next season he was the top scorer in the league with 22 goals. Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund got the right foot in 1989. Driller had his most successful time in the mid-1990s at Hamburg's Millerntor at FC St. Pauli . From 1997 he finally played for 1. FC Nürnberg , where he was able to build on his earlier achievements less and less and ended his career in 2004 for the time being. At the beginning of 2005, however, he returned to active football and moved to SpVgg Bayreuth in the regional league . There he immediately became a top performer with eleven goals in 18 games, but after six months he moved to the Bayern League for FC Ingolstadt 04 . After he was promoted to the Regionalliga Süd with the club, he finally ended his football career. There was another resignation from the resignation in 2008, when a sponsor signed him for the Bavarian regional top division club 1. FC Hersbruck , where he played together with Thomas Ziemer .
After the end of his career, Martin Driller briefly acted as a player-coach for the SC Bajuwaren Munich district class team . He also made headlines in his Hamburg years as a friend of long-time world champion in professional boxing Regina Halmich .
