Martin Kotůlek (born September 11, 1969 in Olomouc ) is a former Czech football player and current coach .

Player career

Kotůlek played in his youth for SK Těšetice and TJ Náměšť na Hané . In 1986 he moved to Sigma Olomouc , to whom he remained loyal for 14 years, apart from a year and a half of military service at Dukla Banská Bystrica . For Sigma Kotůlek came to 256 appearances in the first division, scoring nine goals. Between 1991 and 1998 the defender played eight times for the Czechoslovak and Czech national teams , including in the squad for the 1996 European Championship . In 2000 Kotůlek moved to FC Stavo Artikel Brno , in 2004 to SFC Opava . In 2005, now 36 years old, he moved to the 2nd division for 1st HFK Olomouc .

With a total of 412 games in the first division, he has the most stakes of all players still active. Kotůlek's style of play is considered reliable and inconspicuous. It is also quiet around him outside of the square.

Trainer

For the 2008/09 season Kotůlek was assistant coach at Sigma Olomouc .
