Martin Latka (born September 28, 1984 in Hluboká nad Vltavou ) is a Czech football player who has been under contract with Slavia Prague since June 2014 .
Career
Latka began playing football at the age of six in his native Hluboká nad Vltavou . Only two years later he switched to the youth of SK České Budějovice . In the 2001/02 season he made his league debut there at the age of 17.
In the summer of 2003 he moved to Slavia Prague for 12 million crowns , where the 193 cm tall Latka was regularly used in midfield. In January 2006, Slavia loaned him to Birmingham City . Since he could not assert himself there, he returned to Slavia in the summer of 2006, where he was henceforth used in the defense. In January 2009 Latka moved to Panionios Athens , but returned again to Slavia Prague in the summer of 2011.
On January 17, 2013 Latka moved to Fortuna Düsseldorf in the Bundesliga , where he signed a contract until June 30, 2014. After his contract in Düsseldorf was not extended, he rejoined his old club Slavia Prague in June 2014.
