Martin Moosmüller (born January 30, 1939 in Munich ) is a German banker . He was best known for the development of the Moosmüller method for calculating returns on securities.

Life

Moosmüller was trained as a bank clerk at the Bayerische Gemeindebank (from 1972 Bayerische Landesbank Girozentrale). Moosmüller's personal focus was the stock exchange and the related securities business . He later took over the management of the securities department and became a general representative of the bank. In 1999 Moosmüller retired. Since 2001 he has been chairman of the supervisory board at Moosmüller & Knauf AG.

Create

Moosmüller developed the Moosmüller method. This enables a dynamic return calculation, which is mainly used by institutional traders. It calculates the effective annual interest rate based on a period return using financial mathematics . In contrast to alternative calculation models, all time intervals between the first payment by the debtor and the end of the agreed term are the same.

The Moosmüller method was already used in programmable pocket calculators at the end of the 1970s and is still used within the current computing systems.
