Roger Herft
Roger Herft (born July 11, 1947 in Wattegama , Sri Lanka ) is an Australian Anglican clergyman .
Life
Herft attended the Royal College in Colombo . He studied Anglican theology at the University of Serampore . From 1986 to 1993, Herft was the successor of Brian Davis Bishop in the Anglican Diocese of Waikato and Taranaki in New Zealand . In 1993 Herft was consecrated as the successor to Alfred Charles Holland as Bishop of the Diocese of Newcastle of the Anglican Church of Australia . In 2004 he succeeded Peter Carnley as Archbishop of the Anglican Archdiocese of Perth . Kay Goldsworthy became his successor in February 2018 .
Herft is married and has two children.
