Martin Schönfeld
Martin Schönfeld (born February 4, 1922 ): A former German soccer player who played in the East Zone Soccer League for BSG Gera Süd in 1949/50 .
Athletic career
The East Zone League , which later became the GDR Oberliga , which was founded in 1949 as the top division for the East German football business , started with 14 teams, including the company sports association (BSG) Gera Süd. This participated with 20 players, including the 27-year-old striker Martin Schönfeld. He played his first appearance in the Eastern Zone League on the 5th day of the match, when he immediately launched himself with a goal in the encounter between Gera Süd and BSG Hans Wendler Stendal (4-0), storming on the right side. By matchday 16, he had a total of eight league games and two goals. After that he no longer appeared in the national league.
