Martin Schneider (* 1967 in Wuppertal ) is a German sports reporter and commentator who works for ZDF .

Schneider was used for a long time on ZDF as an assistant to Béla Réthy for live football broadcasts in order to give him information on game situations, tactics, etc. during the games.

After commenting live on games of the handball European championship 2016 and the UEFA Champions League , he was also used as a live commentator for the first time at a major football tournament in 2016 . There he reported three group games and a round of 16. He is also one of the commentators on ZDF at the 2018 World Cup . Including the Olympic Games, this was his 22nd major international event that he reported as a reporter.

In addition to football, handball is his specialty. a. he commented on games of the German national team at the 2019 home World Cup .
