Martin von Wallenrodt (born January 4, 1570 , † June 30, 1632 in Königsberg i. Pr. ) Was a lawyer and book collector.

Life

He is the son of Siegmund von Wallenrodt (1536–1590) and Catharina von Sack († 1597). In 1619 the ducal government , the Oberratsstube in Königsberg, co-opted the 49-year-old Wallenrodt, then district administrator and governor of Tapiau , and gave him the important office of Chancellor in Prussia . Wallenrodt sponsored the Albertus University and left 2,000 valuable books behind. They formed the basis of the Wallenrodt library he donated .

On February 5, 1605, Wallenrodt married Marie Freiin von Kittlitz (* March 8, 1585, † July 21, 1620), the daughter of Baron Friedrich von Kittlitz and Katharina von Proeck . The son Johann Ernst von Wallenrodt comes from this marriage . Paul von Hindenburg is one of Wallenrodt's descendants .
