Martina Sacher

Martina Sacher (born June 7, 1957 in Dresden ) is a former German politician ( WASG and Die Linke ). In 2005 she was on the executive board of the WASG in Saxony . She was a member of the Saxon state board of the party Die Linke.

Life

Her professional career began as a toolmaker . After the reunification in the GDR , Martina Sacher was elected to the first works council of Deutsche Bahn in 1993 . She was a member of the General Works Council , spokeswoman for the Economic Committee, the Personnel and Organization Committee and the Occupational Safety and Health Committee. She is a member of the Transnet union .

Martina Sacher became a member of the WASG in 2005. In August 2005, WASG and Linkspartei.PDS selected her as a joint candidate for the 2005 Bundestag election in constituency 161 ( Dresden II - Meißen I ). In the election she achieved a result of more than 18% of the vote. At the Freiberg party congress of the WASG Saxony (“directional party convention ”) Sacher was elected to the executive board of the state. As the spokeswoman for the state working group for the WASG's operations and trade union and the steering group for the minimum wage campaign, she worked directly on the merger to form the Left Party.

At the federal party conference of the WASG in Geseke on 18./19. November 2006 Sacher was elected to the extended federal executive committee of the WASG. At the party congress of the Saxon state association of the party Die Linke on 14./15. In July 2007 she was elected to the state executive committee.
