Martine Barraqué

Martine Barraqué (actually Martine Barraqué-Curie ) is a French film editor .

Life

After completing a commercial degree, Martine Barraqué taught herself film editing by herself . From 1972 she was regularly employed as the editor of François Truffaut's films . She worked several times with the editor Yann Dedet , such as The American Night (1973) and The Story of Adèle H. (1975). For her work on Truffaut's award-winning drama The Last Metro (1980), Barraqué received the César in the Best Editing category . Also in Truffaut's last films, the love drama The Woman Next Door (1981) and the crime comedyOn Love and Death (1983), Barraqué was responsible for the editing. Suzanne Schiffman , a close confidante of Truffaut and screenwriter of many of the French filmmaker's works, engaged Barraqué to edit her directorial debut The Monk and the Witch (1987).

In addition to her work as a film editor, Barraqué also taught at the French film school La fémis in Paris .
