Marvin Omonigho Omuvwie (born July 11, 1997 in Berlin ) is a German basketball player. He is in the squad of the BG Göttingen .
career
Omuvwie, the son of a German mother and a Nigerian father, played in the youth division for Basketball Berlin Süd eV and then for TuS Lichterfelde , before moving to the youth division of the Bundesliga club ratiopharm ulm in 2013 . There he was first used in the youth, in the talent development team in the second regional league and with the Weißenhorn young stars in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB . In Weißenhorn, the young people from Ulm gain experience in men's basketball and should be prepared for the leap into the first division team. In December 2016, Omuvwie made his Bundesliga debut for Ulm in the game against Würzburg. With Weißenhorn he won the championship title in the ProB in the 2016/17 season. He contributed to this success with an average of 7.7 points and 3.5 rebounds (in 31 missions).
In July 2017 he was announced as a new signing by the second division club Nürnberg Falcons BC . In the 2018/19 game year he won the runner-up in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA with the Franks, which meant promotion to the Bundesliga. Omuvwie scored an average of 2.6 points per use in the promotion season. At the beginning of July 2019 he was signed by the Bundesliga club BG Göttingen .
National team
In the summer of 2013 Omuvwie was part of the German U16 national team for the European Championship in Ukraine.
