Marxist-Leninist Partij Nederland

The Marxist-Leninist Partij Nederland , MLPN, (German: Marxist-Leninist Party of the Netherlands ) was a Maoist -oriented political party in the Netherlands that existed from 1970 to 1980 . The party, which actually only had about 20 members, was organized in cells and was able to afford extensive public relations work thanks to financial support from the People's Republic of China . Its general secretary, Pieter Bouvé (aka Chris Petersen), was a math teacher.

The former head of the counter-espionage department at the Dutch secret service , Frits Hoekstra , reveals in his book "In Dienst van de BVD" that the MLPN was a foundation of the secret service BVD , with the aim of getting an overview of the influence of Maoism To provide students and intellectuals as well as information about China's geopolitical ambitions. The action, run as "Project Mongol", was supported by the CIA , which had access to all files and which spoke of "Operation Red Herring ".
