Success as an author
Osborne's first book Run, Run as Fast as You Can was published in 1982. From 1993 to 1997, Osborne was President of the Authors Guild . The most successful part of her work is the book series The Magic Tree House , which is one of the most popular children's book series in the USA and Germany. So far, 54 titles have been published in German translation.
The magical tree house
Osborne got the idea for the magical tree house in the 1990s when she saw a dilapidated tree house while walking in the woods. Based on this suggestion, she wrote the first volume in the series, in which the siblings Anne and Philipp discover a tree house full of books that belongs to the sorceress Morgan. With the tree house they can travel to all the places shown in the books. In 2011 an anime film based on the books was released.
