Mary Siragusa

Mary Siragusa (born February 8, 1920 in Santo Domingo ; † December 12, 2002 ibid) was a Dominican pianist and music teacher.

Life

Mary Siragusa studied at the Liceo Musical with Juana Martínez and María Luisa Nanita and completed her training with Manuela Jiménez . She performed as a concert pianist and taught at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música for more than 42 years, starting in 1942 . For her work she has received awards from the Consejo Nacional de Educación , the Conservatorio Nacional de Música , the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo and the Secretaría de Educación, Bellas Artes y Cultos .

Her daughter María de Fátima Geraldes , who received her first piano lessons from her, also became known as a pianist. More of her students were u. a. Rafael Solano , Catana Pérez de Cuello , Floralba del Monte , Miriam Ariza and Pedro Delgado Malagon .
