The Maryland State Route 291 (abbreviated MD 291 ) is a state highway in the US state of Maryland , the West-East direction is in.

The State Route begins on Maryland State Route 20 in Chestertown and ends after 30 kilometers in Millington on the Delaware border. After the border, it becomes Delaware State Route 6 .

After branching off State Route 20 east of Radcliffe Mill , MD 291 crosses Chestertown on Morgnec Road and joins Maryland State Route 213 at the intersection with Washington Avenue . The road leaves the town in an easterly direction parallel to the Chester River . In the River Road southwest of Chesterville , State Route 298 first branches off in a northerly direction, before Maryland State Route 290 uses the route of MD 291 for about one kilometer and leaves it in the direction of Chesterville.

West of Millington, the road crosses the route of US Highway 301 , which is indirectly accessible via junctions on State Route 701A in the south and on State Route 701 in the north. In the center of the village of Millington, the MD 291 meets the Maryland State Route 313 and ends east of the village after 30 kilometers on the Delaware State Route 6.
