Nomada stigma is a bee from the family of Apidae . It is believed that the subspecies Nomada stigma villipes is a species of its own, as it flies two generations later in the year and has a different range of prey.

features

The bees have a body length of 10 to 12 millimeters (females) or 8 to 11 millimeters (males). The head and thorax of the females are black and drawn in red. The tergites are red. The first is basal black, occasionally other tergites are partially black. The labrum and has a tooth at the base. The third antenna segment is the same length as the fourth. The flat scutellum is faintly humped and has two red spots. The rails ( tibia ) of the hind legs are blunt at the end and have fine, small thorns that are difficult to see because of the hairiness. The males are similar to the females, but their faces are painted yellow. The mandibles have a blunt hump on the outside. The middle antennae are provided with pointed nodules on the back. The male's label is black.

Occurrence and way of life

The species is common in Europe. The animals fly in one generation from early May to mid-July. They parasitize Andrena decipiens , Andrena labialis and Andrenaschencki .
