Marzahn-Mitte is a district that was created in the early 1980s in the center of the Berlin district of Marzahn in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district . It has an area of ​​7.97 km² and is the most populous part of the district with a population of 43,971 (as of June 30, 2007). Around 15 percent of the population is under 25 years of age, 49 percent between 25 and 55 years old and 36 percent older than 55 years (as of the end of 2014).

In the south the Landsberger Allee forms the border with Marzahn-Süd , in the north the Neue Wuhle to Marzahn-Nord , in the east the Ahrensfeld Mountains form the end to Berlin-Hellersdorf and in the west form the Gehrenseestrasse, the Hohenschönhauser Strasse and the S- Railway route to Berlin-Wartenberg the border to the Lichtenberg district .

Most of the residential development with the district center around the Marzahner Promenade and the Eastgate shopping center with the Marzahn bus station is located east of the Märkische Allee and the railway line of the Wriezener Bahn with the Berlin-Marzahn train station . To the west of Märkische Allee is the Marzahn Park Cemetery and the Bitterfelder Straße industrial park.
