The Marzahn bus station is located in the Marzahn district of Berlin near the Eastgate shopping center at the Marzahn S-Bahn station . The area of the bus station is 11,300 m².
history
Bus station
On 15 July 1990, the bus station with six bus platforms and was Wall -Wartehallen put into operation, since there keep the buses of the Berlin Transport Authority (BVG). On August 15, 2011, the groundbreaking ceremony for the conversion to the new bus station took place. During the renovation, the buses stopped in front of the S-Bahn station in the park-and-ride car park. Six bus platforms became a central exit stop and three boarding stops. All stops have been made barrier-free with guidance systems for the blind , have again been equipped with waiting halls and new trees have been planted. The renovation should actually take until the beginning of December 2011, but the bad weather delayed construction until 2012, and construction was finished in April. On April 28, 2012 at 12:30 p.m., the new bus station was officially opened to the public by the District Councilor for Economics and Urban Development, Christian Gräff , together with Sigrid Nikutta , BVG CEO, and a representative of the Senate Department for Urban Development. The bus service only started on May 2, 2012 at around 4.15 a.m.
Customer center
The groundbreaking ceremony for the new BVG customer center on Marzahner Promenade was on March 19, 2012 and was built in just four months. On August 4, 2012, at 10 a.m., the new customer center was officially opened with a party. A break room for bus drivers has been set up on the upper floor of the customer center.
