The Marzahner Basket Bären eV are a Berlin basketball club which was founded on June 19, 1990 by sports teachers from the Marzahn district and in 2002 took over the TiPIN Berlin club . Youth work, which should give children and young people an alternative to crime and drugs, is seen as the top priority. In the 1990s, over 300 members actively participated in the basket bears' training and games. The Marzahner Basket Bears currently have just over 200 active members. But despite the general decline in membership, the level of play in the adult area steadily increased.

Thanks to the well-structured development of the players in the club, many of the Marzahner Basket Bären players have already been able to compete in the national team and in the various Berlin selection teams. The best-known former Marzahn players include the Bundesliga players Robert Kulawick , Oskar Faßler , Andreas Seiferth and Martin Seiferth .

In 2006, the male U16 team became German champions after a runaway victory over FC Bayern Munich. The 1st women, under the direction of Michael Klukas, are currently entitled to a promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga after an impressive season so far. The 1st men, under the direction of Marco Bulla, have also been playing at a high level in the 2nd Regionalliga Ost in the upper third of the table for years.

In 2007 the club merged with 2 other clubs to form the Berlin Baskets .
