Maschidat Gadschievna Gairbekova
Maschidat Gadschijewna Gairbekowa ( Russian Машидат Гаджиевна Гаирбекова ; born December 29, 1927 in Karata , Dagestani ASSR ; † November 22, 2015 in Karata) was an Avar poet.
Life
Gairbekova studied at the Maxim Gorky Literature Institute in Moscow and after her return worked at the Institute for History, Language and Literature in Dagestan. She worked as an editor for the magazines Goryanka and Druzhba and was director of the Avar Theater. Since 1948 she has published several collections of poetry and texts on contemporary life in Dagestan.
