Stephen Tompkinson
Stephen Philip Tompkinson (born October 15, 1965 in Stockton-on-Tees ) is a British actor .
Life
Stephen Tompkinson studied acting at the prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama . Tompkinson first became famous for his role as the courageous, unscrupulous reporter Damien Day in the satirical comedy Drop The Dead Donkey , which ran from 1990 to 1998. He appeared in the tragic comedy Brassed Off - With Timpani and Trumpets and the film Tabloid - Dangerous Revelations . He appeared alongside Clive Owen in Chancer , acted as a duo with Nick Berry in In Deep and starred in two series alongside Robson Green in 1998. In addition to his appearances in other TV dramas such as All Quiet on the Preston Front , Tompkinson is a regular on the theater stage.
One of his most popular roles was that of Father Peter Clifford alongside his former fiancée Dervla Kirwan in Ballykissangel . Tompkinson was engaged to Ballykissangel co-star Dervla Kirwan. He later married Nicci Taylor. The couple had a daughter named Daisy Ellen in 2001. The couple separated during Tompkinson's filming of Wild at Heart .
