The machine technology display (MTD) is an essential display element in the driver's cab of traction vehicles , alongside the modular driver's cab display or display (MFA / MFD) . It is mainly used to display the current status of various parts of the system, such as B. the motors , the brakes and the power supply . For this and for further status information, the MTD uses the control system of the locomotive. Furthermore, it is used to display or report malfunctions and errors and, by means of so-called remedial texts, supports the driver in rectifying pending malfunctions.
