The international dialect archive "Ludwig Soumagne" is an interdisciplinary collection and research center for German-language dialect literature under the auspices of the Rhein-Kreis Neuss , based in Dormagen-Zons . It owes its name to Ludwig Soumagne (1927–2003), a renowned modern dialect author.

From the end of the 1960s, the so-called dialect wave developed in the German-speaking area, both in the musical and literary areas . It produced dialect songs that made it into the hit lists and modern dialect writers that received international attention. Cities like Bern , Vienna and Cologne developed into strongholds of this movement. The dialect authors of this epoch were very interested in networking with one another across dialect borders. This is where the idea of ​​creating a cultural institution promoting dialect literature arose.

The IMA's offer is rounded off by the annual Zonser Radio Play Days . These are productions that were broadcast for the first time in the previous year and submitted by the editors for the competition for the Zonser Hörspielpreis. Public broadcasters in Switzerland, Austria and Germany are invited to take part in the competition.

The Zonser Hörspielpreis is awarded annually by the Stiftung Kulturpflege und Kulturförderung der Sparkasse Neuss in cooperation with the IMA for the best regional radio play of the year. The prize is awarded by an expert jury from the “Regional Radio Play” working group. In addition, the Zons actor award for the best performance in a regional radio play will be awarded at the same time . Both prizes are endowed.
