Zonser radio play award

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Zonser Hörspielpreis has been awarded annually since 1994 as part of the Zonser Hörspieltage by the Stiftung Kulturpflege und Kulturförderung der Sparkasse Neuss in cooperation with the international dialect archive “Ludwig Soumagne” of the Rhein-Kreis Neuss for the best regional radio play of the year. The foundation endowed the award with 2500 euros. The award goes to radio plays that are written in German-speaking dialect or designed with German-speaking dialects. These are productions that were broadcast for the first time in the previous year and have been submitted by the editors for the competition for the Zons Radio Play Prize. The public broadcasters from Switzerland, Austria and Germany are invited by the international dialect archive "Ludwig Soumagne" to take part in the competition for the Zonser Hörspielpreis.

The prize is awarded by an expert jury from the “Regional Radio Play Working Group”, which consists of editors, directors, dramaturges and authors from public broadcasters in German-speaking countries and independent members.

From 2007 to 2013, the jury also selected the SchnippZ award winner for the best regional short report on German-speaking radio . The SchnippZ Prize, endowed with 1000 euros, was sponsored by ARD, Swiss Radio and Television (SRF), Austrian Broadcasting (ORF) and the Foundation for Culture and Promotion of Sparkasse Neuss.

Since 2014, the Zonser Actor Award, endowed with 1000 euros, has replaced the SchnippZ Award. It has been endowed with 2000 euros since 2019. The most impressive speaking act in the competition for the Zons Radio Play Prize will be chosen by the same jury on the last day of the Zons Radio Play Days. The award ceremony for the performer takes place in the following year together with the Zons Radio Play Prize.
