Pedro Lenz (2008)

Pedro Lenz (born March 8, 1965 in Langenthal ) is a Swiss writer who writes and lectures mostly in dialect .

Life

Pedro Lenz completed his apprenticeship as a bricklayer in 1984. On his second educational path , he completed the Swiss Matura in 1995. He then studied Spanish literature for a few semesters at the University of Bern . Since 2001 he has been working full-time as a writer.

Lenz writes columns for various newspapers and magazines, from the NZZ to the WOZ . As an author he is a member of the stage project “Hohe Stirnen” and the spoken word group Bern is everywhere . He has written texts for various theater groups and for Swiss radio SRF. He is since 2007 member of the team of the morning history of Radio SRF 1 , where he is regularly heard at 8.40 PM. In 2008 he took part in the Klagenfurt Literature Days.

He has expressed himself several times on current political issues, for example as president of the association “ No” at the end of broadcasting against the popular initiative “ Yes” to the abolition of radio and television fees (No Billag) .

Pedro Lenz lives in Olten , where he is co-owner of a restaurant with journalist Werner de Schepper . On New Year's Eve 2017 he became father of a son together with the actress and television presenter Rahel Grunder, daughter of the politician and entrepreneur Hans Grunder . On October 18 of the following year, the couple married on their 30th birthday.

  • The film adaptation of the novel “ Der Goalie bin ig ”, directed by Sabine Boss and with the participation of Lenz, received the 2014 Swiss Film Prize . Pedro Lenz, together with Sabine Boss and Jasmine Hoch, received the Quartz for the best script of the year.
