Guy Krneta

Guy Krneta (born March 24, 1964 in Bern ) is a Swiss playwright and writer . He is married to the director Ursina Greuel , lives in Basel and has four children.

Life

As a high school student, Guy Krneta began writing lyrics and songs. He studied theater studies in Vienna and medicine in Bern. From 1986 Krneta worked at the Stadttheater Bern and at the Theater Basel as an assistant director. For a while he was deputy director of the AUAWIRLEBEN theater festival before he went to Esslingen to work as a dramaturge at the Württemberg State Theater there and later at the Braunschweig State Theater . After returning to Switzerland, he served his six-month imprisonment for refusal to serve before acting as deputy head of Theater Tuchlaube in Aarau and working as a dramaturge at the local independent Theater Marie.

Guy Krneta is a member of the author group Bern is everywhere and is often on stage as a spoken word author. He is also involved in cultural policy, initiated the Swiss Literature Institute in Biel and is a founding member of the artists' network Art + Politics .
