Ursina Greuel

Ursina Greuel (born October 3, 1971 in Göttingen ) is a Swiss theater director and producer .

life and work

Ursina Greuel attended the Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium in Kaiserslautern , where she wrote the great Latinum and her Abitur exams in 1989 . She spent the 1990s at the drama school in Zurich and later as an assistant at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg , before returning to Switzerland as a freelance director shortly before the millennium .

The focus of their work is abomination mainly on contemporary drama and the spoken word itself ( Spoken Word ). In 2001 she founded the Matterhorn Productions group , which has since then continuously celebrated Swiss stage art (including G. Krneta's fondue opera and Nach Lampedusa - Wandererfantasien ). In 2015 Greuel also launched the STÜCKBOX project in Dornach . The idea behind it is to show contemporary and previously unpublished texts with a short trial period and as little stage design as possible. The focus is on the text, the spoken word and the game.

In addition to her work as a director, Greuel was curator for Switzerland at the international young dramatists' meeting INTERPLAY from 2000 to 2005 , presided over the professional association of independent theater professionals in Switzerland (ACT) from 2006 to 2015, wrote columns on cultural policy in the program newspaper Basel , and has been co-editor of the book series since 2009 spoken script and has headed the even theater in Zurich since August 2018 .

Greuel is married to the writer Guy Krneta , has four children and lives in Basel .
