Max Huwyler

Max Huwyler (born December 6, 1931 in Zug ) is a Swiss author.

Life

Max Huwyler was a secondary school teacher in the Canton of Zurich . Together with the secondary school teacher Walter Flückiger from Thalwil, he wrote the language teaching aid World of Words, used in secondary school, in three volumes, which was published in several editions from 1983 onwards. His work also includes texts for children, plays for the school stage, radio plays, poems and children's books. Huwyler also works with musicians at readings. He also translated pieces by Elias Canetti and Günter Grass into Swiss German .

Max Huwyler was awarded the Swiss Youth Book Prize in 1993 , the Swiss Schiller Foundation Prize in 1996 and the Canton of Zug Recognition Prize, and the Central Switzerland Media Prize of the Swiss Radio DRS in 2004 and the Zonser Radio Play Prize . In 2018 he received the honorary award of the 3rd Culture Sash Zug.
