Massimo Antonelli (artist)

Massimo Antonelli (born May 18, 1942 in Asmara , Eritrea ) is an Italian film director and conceptual artist .

Life

Antonelli's parents moved to Molise when Massimo was two years old. After graduating in Agricultural Science in 1961, he studied at the Faculty of Biology at the Sapienza University of Rome . From 1967 to 1969 he attended the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and studied with Roberto Rossellini , Jean-Luc Godard and Louis Malle . After experience as an assistant director , he directed the film Il tema di Marco in 1972 ( re-released as Frammenti d'amore in 1976 ). He worked for television and also made documentaries; In 1984 the television film Padre part-time was the culmination of this work; Theater productions also bore his signature.

As a concept artist, Antonelli has been designing works since 1997 in which he places objects of daily use, often kitchen utensils, in new forms and contexts. He thus participates in numerous collective exhibitions.

Antonelli is the author of two books, one of them with poetry.
