Massimo Antonio Boldi (born July 23, 1945 in Luino ) is an Italian comedian , actor and drummer .

Life

After graduating from school, Boldi worked in the Milan jazz club and cabaret "Derby" since the mid-1960s , where he provided the music on the one hand as a drummer and on stage for entertainment on the other. In 1974 he became known to a wider audience when he starred in the television show "Canzonissima" as a partner of Renato Pozzetto . In the following years he formed a comic duo with Teo Teocoli that was valued by critics and audiences alike. From 1980 onwards, Boldi was featured on numerous television programs and created fictional characters that would be remembered (like the dumb news anchor“Max Cipollino” in “A tutto gag”); The titles of other programs were e.g. B. “Risatissima”, “Striscia la notizia”, “Drive In”, “Una rotonda sul mare” or “Scherzi a parte”, all produced by Fininvest .

With a massive body, a happy face and a diction that made the audience laugh, Boldi was well equipped to become one of the great Italian comedians; However, he was not very particular about his roles and was therefore too often seen in trivial and vulgar roles: Since 1975 he has also been shooting regularly for the cinema, where he is mostly successful with audiences in over 60, but little more than average and played artistically irrelevant works that seldom made an impression beyond day-to-day business. In 1996 he appeared for Pupi Avati in his festival in his first character role, but then turned back to familiar paths and in series films such as the "Natale" series. He appeared in 24 films alongside Christian De Sica .

After a few successful television series in the new millennium ( Un ciclone in famiglia , 2005–2008; Un coccodrillo per amico , 2009 and others), Boldi has been writing (for cinema films) and since 2010 occasionally producing his works (for television formats).

Boldi is married and has three daughters.
