Massimo Martella

Massimo Martella (* 1961 in Taranto ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Martella attended directing courses from Paolo Benvenuti in Pisa and initially presented a few short films. In 1987 he graduated in directing from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia . Five years later he made his cinema debut, Il tuffo , which had a difficult time in the halls during the cinema crisis , but was awarded prizes at the Venice Film Festival . In 1997, La prima volta followed , then a screenplay for Francesco Rosi . After L'ultima lezione , his third film, he mainly wrote books for crime TV series on Italian television.

Martella is not to be confused with the musician of the same name .
