The Mastrafjord Tunnel is a traffic tunnel in Norway . The single-bore road tunnel is below the Mastrafjord between Askje on Mosterøy and Håvastein on Rennesoy in the community Stavanger in the province ( Fylke ) Rogaland .

The submarine tunnel is 4,424 meters long. The deepest point is about 133 meters below the sea surface. The maximum uphill or downhill gradient is 8 percent.

With the opening of the tunnel in 1992, the ferry connection across the Boknafjord was shortened. Together with the Byfjord Tunnel , the Mastrafjord Tunnel is an important link on European route 39 , which connects Stavanger with the northern regions of Norway.
