Matías Mier , full name Henry Matías Mier Codina , (born August 2, 1990 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.82 meter tall midfielder Mier comes from the Barrio Villa Española . He started playing soccer at Oriental when he was four. In youth football, the stations Club Atlético Rentistas , Danubio FC and again Rentistas followed. There he made his debut in the first team under coach Julio Balerio at the age of 15 . In 2007 he was initially part of the professional squad of Rentistas and from 2008 to at least December 2010 that of Centro Atlético Fénix . In the 2009/10 season he completed 26 games in the Primera División for the latter club and scored five goals, followed by 15 league games and one goal in Apertura 2010. Since Clausura 2011 he was in the ranks of Club Atlético Peñarol , with the he reached the final of the Copa Libertadores 2011 , to which he contributed with 13 competitive appearances and one goal. In the highest Uruguayan league he has eleven missions and one hit at this station. Around the middle of 2011 he joined the Chilean club CD Universidad Católica . With the Chileans, he won the Copa Chile in 2011 . Until the end of 2013, he played 44 games (eleven goals) in the Primera División , 16 games (five goals) in the Copa Chile, nine encounters (one goal) in the Copa Sudamericana and two clashes (no goal) in the season with this club Copa Libertadores 2012 . In early January 2014, he was loaned to the Santiago Wanderers within the league . In the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons he played 34 times (five goals) in the highest Chilean league and seven times (three goals) in the Chilean Cup. At the end of June 2015 he returned to Universidad Católica. A month later it was loaned out again. The receiving club this time was Rentistas, his club from the early days of his professional career. In the 2015/16 season he was used 28 times in the Primera División with the Montevideans and scored ten times in the opposing goal. He joined Al Mu'aidar in early September 2016 . With the Qatar he came twice (no goal) in the league for use. In January 2017 he returned to his former club Peñarol. For the "Aurinegros" he ran eight times (one goal) in the league and once (no goal) in the 2017 Copa Libertadores . At the beginning of July 2017 he was signed by the Colombian club Atlético Junior , where he has not been used so far (as of July 14, 2017).
