Mataʻaho (also: Mataho ) is a small island in the Tongatapu archipelago in the center of Tongatapu in the Pacific . Politically, it belongs to the Kingdom of Tonga .

The Motu lies in the central lagoon of the main island Tongatapu, together with Talakite in the extension of Nukunukumotu in the north.
climate
The climate is tropical hot, but is tempered by constantly blowing winds. Like the other islands of the Tongatapu group, Mataʻaho is occasionally hit by cyclones .
