Mateo Martín Sasso Giménez (born July 3, 1975 ) is a former Uruguayan road cyclist .

Mateo Sasso secured his first championship title in 1993, at that time still in the youth field, with the Campeón del Litoral de Medio Fondo (Coastal Champion in the Medio Fondo ) in Colonia . In the 1995/96 season he won the national runner-up on the road for Dolores CC starting in Montevideo . In 1999 he became Uruguayan champion in both the Medio Fondo and the single pursuit . He finished third in the individual time trial that year. The following year he joined a Spanish team. In 2001 he became the Uruguayan champion in the 4 km singles pursuit.

In 2002, Sasso was part of the Juventud de Las Piedras team participating in the 59th edition of the Vuelta Ciclista del Uruguay .

The Vuelta Ciclista del Uruguay 2005, which his teammate Álvaro Tardáguila won, he finished fourth in the overall standings, starting for the Dolores CC team . The following year he was a member of the Uruguayan squad at the 2006 South American Games . In 2007 he won the 17th edition of the Vuelta Chaná organized by the Federación Ciclista de Soriano in the ranks of the Alas Rojas de Santa Lucía team . In 2008, he won the Plaza a Plaza bike race in Dolores as a CCDolores rider, ahead of his team mates Cristian Larrama and Álvaro Tardáguila.

When the Vuelta Ciclista del Uruguay was held in 2010, Sasso started for CCDolores , but left early after the seventh stage. In that year he also took part in the Rutas de América and finished 16th in the final ranking. The following year he also took part in the Rutas de América for this team.

Mateo Sasso drove for the CA Villa Teresa team in 2012 and competed with her in the 2012 edition of the road stage cycle race Rutas de América , in which he came second in the sprint classification.
