Mathías Rodríguez , full name Mathías Fernando Rodríguez Laites , (born June 20, 1997 in Rosario or Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

The 1.71 meter tall defensive player Rodríguez played from 2010 to 2012 for the youth teams of Defensor Sporting . From 2012 to 2015 he was active for the youth teams of Club Atlético Peñarol . In mid-August 2015, he moved to Real Madrid on loan . There he played four games (no goal) in the UEFA Youth League for the A youth team in the 2015/16 season . He returned to Peñarol in early July 2016. There he finally made his debut in the Primera División on September 3, 2016 , when he was called into the starting line-up by coach Jorge Da Silva on matchday two of the 2016 season in a 2-0 home win against Centro Atlético Fénix . During the 2016 season he was used eleven times (no goal) in the league. After he did not receive any further premier league appearances in the 2017 season until the end of the Torneo Intermedio, he was loaned to Plaza Colonia within the league in mid-July 2017 .

National team

Rodríguez made four caps for Uruguay's U-18 team in 2015 . He was also a member of a preselection of the Uruguayan U-20 national team in 2016 .
