Mathias Hinke

Mathias Hinke (born July 2, 1973 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican composer .

biography

He studied composition and art history in Mexico, New York and Berlin . In 1994 he worked for the first time on the setting of a television film ("El macho" by José Ramón Miquelajauregui ). In 1996 he worked with Pierre Charvet on an experimental film at IRCAM , the musicological institute of the Center Pompidou in Paris . In 1997, a commission from the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the actor Hans-Jürgen Schatz brought him to Berlin, where Hinke has lived since 1998. Successful performances of the play "Der Selbstsuchtige Riese" (based on a fairy tale by Oscar Wilde ) in Heidelberg in 2001 and in Latin America paved the way for further commissions.

Mathias Hinke has received several awards from the Manhattan School of Music . He won 1st place in the song competition in 1994.

His pieces are u. a. performed by the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de México , the Philharmonic Orchestra Heidelberg , the Vogler Quartet and the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra .
