Mathias Weiland

Mathias Weiland (born August 7, 1956 in Leipzig ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). From 1990 to 1994 he was a member of the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament .

Career

Mathias Weiland graduated from high school in 1975 and studied in Halle from 1978 to 1982. After graduating in 1982 with a degree in geography, he worked from 1982 to 1991 in the Saale-Werra water management department, most recently as a sector manager. From 1991 to 1994 he was head of department in the State Office for Environmental Protection.

Mathias Weiland is a Protestant denomination, is single and has a daughter.

politics

Mathias Weiland co-founded the ecological working group at the Evangelical Church District Halle in 1982 and worked in the peace, human rights and ecological movement in the GDR until 1989. In September 1989 he joined the New Forum and in November 1989 the GDR Green Party. He worked at the round table of the city of Halle and the Halle district. From 1990 to 1993 he was a member of the city council of the Greens in Halle, 1992 to 1994 a member of the state council of the Greens. He was a board member at the Independent Institute for Environmental Issues Berlin / Halle e. V.

Mathias Weiland was not elected to the state parliament in the first state election in Saxony-Anhalt in 1990 , but moved up to replace Heidrun Heidecke in the state parliament on November 24, 1994 . In the state parliament he was a member of the committees for the environment, energy and spatial planning, for culture and media, for law and constitution and for federal and European affairs.
