Mathilde of Franconia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mathilde von Franken (* around 1027, † January 1034 ) was a daughter of the Roman-German Emperor Konrad II and his wife Gisela von Schwaben from the Salian dynasty .

At a meeting in Deville, Lorraine, in May 1033 with the West Franconian / French King Heinrich I , Emperor Conrad II agreed to marry his five-year-old daughter. The marriage did not take place, however, because Mathilda had died in the spring of 1034.

She was buried in the Worms Cathedral.
