Mathis Mathisen

Mathis Mathisen (born April 4, 1937 in Lillesand , Sørlandet , Norway ) is a Norwegian writer .

Life

Mathisen completed an apprenticeship as a teacher after graduating from school and worked as such for a while. He first wrote several books about foreign cultures and peoples. He also appeared as an author for children's and youth literature and became known as a high-quality children's author through books . In 1988 Mathis Mathiesen received the Norsk litteraturkritikerlags barnebokpris (Norwegian literary critic award for children's and youth literature) for the children's book Ismael . This book was also translated into German by Ruth Stöbling and published in 1988 by Kinderbuchverlag Berlin .

He also appeared as a screenwriter, such as B. in the Norwegian film For Tors skyld from 1983 and 1968 with Trilopties . Mathisen was also involved in some of the NRK 's television and radio programs for children and young people, including the radio program Barnetimen for de minste (Children's time for the little ones ), including the audio book story Basse og Sofie (Basse and Sofie).

Mathiesen has lived in Melsomvik , Fylke Vestfold , for several years . He is often confused with the Norwegian photographer and cameraman Mattis Mathiesen (1924-2010).
