Matilda gel hair
Matilda Fredrika Gelhaar , also Mathilda Fredrika Gelhaar , née Matilda Fredrika Ficker , ( September 3, 1814 in Stockholm - April 24, 1889 ibid) was a Swedish opera singer ( coloratura soprano ).
Life
Gelhaar was taught by Isaak Berg in Stockholm . In 1834 she made her debut at the Stockholm Opera and stayed there until she left the stage in 1858.
She was particularly known for her roles in the coloratura soprano, because she was able to combine them with an unusual pitch of her voice and a masterly command of singing technique. In 1837 she was awarded the title of Swedish court singer.
Her daughter Wilhelmina Gelhaar (1837–1923) was her successor, as well known as she herself, at the Stockholm Opera.
