Matt Schofield (born August 21, 1977 in Manchester , England) is an English blues guitarist and singer.

biography

Schofield began playing the guitar seriously when he was 12. After college, Schofield went to London , where he performed with various musicians. He noticed Dana Gillespie , who took him into her band. Eventually he founded his own band, the "Matt Schofield Trio", which had a keyboard player instead of a bassist . Her first album The Trio, Live was released in 2004 and received good reviews.

Schofield has toured worldwide and performed with several greats of the blues. The "Guitar & Bass Magazine" ranked him among the 10 best British guitarists of all time. The album Anything But Time was voted the best blues album of 2011 by Mojo .

Schofield was inducted into the Hall of Fame for the British Blues Awards after being named Guitarist of the Year three times in a row - 2010 to 2012.
