Dana Gillespie (actually Richenda Antoinette de Winterstein Gillespie ; born March 30, 1949 in London ) is an English actress and singer .

She is the daughter of Hans Henry Winterstein Gillespie (1910-1994), a German-Austrian radiologist in London and the son of Hans Winterstein , and his British wife Anne Francis Roden Buxton (1920-2007). Her older sister, Nicola Henrietta St. John Gillespie, was born in 1946.

Gillespie is an actress in various films and has produced over 50 albums in various musical styles over the course of her career. In 1974 she released a cover version of David Bowie's Andy Warhol as a single. Bowie also produced two tracks on the accompanying Glam Rock influenced LP Weren't Born a Man : Dizzy Heights and Mother, Don't Be Frightened .

She had her biggest hit in 1983 with the single Move Your Body Close to Me , which reached number three in the Austrian charts. During this time she was also a member of the Austrian Mojo Blues Band and hosted a program for World Music on Blue Danube Radio for several years .

Gillespie sings and produces today in the genre blues and boogie-woogie , but also under the pseudonym "Third Man" with music in the Indian style in Sanskrit . She does the program for the annual Mustique Blues Festival.
