Matteo Beretta

Matteo Beretta (born March 23, 1994 ) is an Italian racing driver . He started in the European F3 Open from 2010 to 2012 .

Career

Beretta began his motorsport career in karting in 2001 , in which he was active until 2009. Among other things, he came second in the European and Asia-Pacific KF2 kart championships in 2009. In 2010 Beretta switched to formula racing. First he started for TP Motorsport in Formula Abarth . After four races without points, he left the series and switched to the Italian Formula 3 championship , where he competed again for TP Motorsport. He took part in six race weekends and also got no points here. He then went to the last three events of the European F3 Open for RP Motorsport . He scored points in half of the races and fourth was his best result. In 2011, Beretta stayed with RP Motorsport in the European F3 Open all season. While one of his teammates, David Fumanelli , achieved the runner-up title, Beretta finished the season in third place as the best result in eleventh place. At the beginning of 2012, Beretta took part in the winter series of the European F3 Open for Cedars . He achieved fourth place.

Then Beretta initially competed in the Auto GP World Series . After he had contested the season opener for Virtuosi Racing UK , he switched to Zele Racing for the second race weekend . He was left without points. He then returned to Cedars in the European F3 Open. In this series, too, his engagement ended prematurely.
