Matthäus Hofmann (born September 12, 1866 in Pfullendorf ; † September 20, 1929 there ) was a German painter .
He was born the son of the gravel pit worker Georg Hofmann and Rosa Reichle. Between 1882 and 1929 he painted over 600 oil paintings and took part in the World Exhibition in Brussels in 1910 . While traveling through Europe, he wrote a 36-page notebook . The notebook , written in Sütterlin script, is about his experiences on his travels.
