Matthaios Blastares ( Middle Greek Ματθαῖος Βλάσταρης ) was a late Byzantine ecclesiastical author.

The canonist and theologian, who was last documented in 1346, completed his main work, the Syntagma kata stoicheion, in Thessalonike in 1334/35 , where he lived as Hieromonachos ( priest monk ) in the Kyr Isaak monastery (later Peribleptos monastery) . In addition, he wrote the following (mostly unedited) works: a longer treatise on the errors of the Latins ("Κατὰ Λατίνων"), a treatise against the Jews divided into five chapters (the authorship is not certain), writings against Barlaam of Calabria and the Antipalamites , hymnographic works and a letter to Guy de Lusignan (= King Constantine IV of Lesser Armenia).
